Graduation did not kill me! Isn’t that amazing? I was as surprised as anyone. YAAAAAY!
Alright, onward, then. So, yes, I’m still up and kicking and getting to this blog much later than I intended to. I’d hoped to update as soon as the semester ended, but it was kind of a whirlwind of activity and family afterward, so that obviously didn’t happen. You all probably saw the giant “Old Spice” essay post. Don’t panic! It’s okay. It will more than likely be moving to a page of its own as soon as I figure out how. That was the final project for the Principles of Advertising class that I barely managed to finish. (Dr. Kidd, by the way, is an absolutely wonderful teacher to whom I owe much gratitude and possibly cake. Also, a one Mr. Derik Grey, too, for being an awesome Video Production teacher!)
Ended up graduating on two hours of sleep, napping during the ceremony, and being woken up in time to walk thanks to a friend texting me to tell me about his new camera. The whole shindig was delightful, though, and many of my favorite people managed to make it. (I’m told my folks sped the last half of the normally 3+ hour trip to arrive in time. I love those guys.) And then it was off the next morning along that same 3 hour drive, to help my sister get ready for her prom, help my father DJ her prom, and spend time with the rest of the family. (Side note: Father owns and operates his own production company. Nava & Associates. Usually handles the production end and a/v for corporate meetings and events, but is now also available to DJ.) Now I’m just looking for work and taking care the things that need attention (like my dying plant and wreck of an apartment).
Ah, and the final projects for the Video Production class! Tada!
The second installment of my Yu-gi-oh mini-documentary series:
And my video production reel:
…which seems to have gone missing. Hmm, well, I guess I’ll post that later when I find it.
About changes, there will be and already have been quite a few. Graduating is one. Moving in the next month or two is another. Chopped off my hair and gave it to Locks of Love. The last thing I feel worth mentioning is that this blog will be shifting to more of a writerly blog. It already began when I created the Writing Projects- Fiction section. Writing being what I want to do, I’ll be using the blog in much the same capacity: analyzing my work, keeping track of how my skills progress, updates and observations. I’ve already started working on several things, but as promised in the writing section, I’ll try not to post things that aren’t finished at the very least. I’m hoping to spend a lot more time–all the time that once went to homework–carving out stories and making something worth publishing. It’ll be interesting and hopefully even fun. I guess we’ll see. It’s an adventure!
